Missouri Lakes Fishing
Report by Steve Wilson
Lake - Lake of The Ozarks 12/06/06:
Winter Storm hit Lake of the Ozarks hard! It looks as if 10%
of the docks on this lake have damage and sunken boats. As if a tornado hit
every cove. The water patrol has closed the lake to recreational boat traffic.
Here is a report on lake conditions and water temp. I will have more when
the water patrol opens the lake.
Lake level: 657.54 with minimum generation scheduled
for the next few days. This should hold the lake at 657.55 Truman lake level:
704.86
Water temp: I checked the temp at my dock which
is in the Tan Tara area. 48 degrees. It will be a few degrees warmer down
by the Dam. And the temps will dropped as you head up lake.
Lake Conditions: The lake came up a half a foot
with all the rain before the ice and snow. And the snow melting won’t
effect the lake much. By the time it slowly melts into the lake. They will
have compensated for it by releasing water from Bagnell dam. The water has
a little color in it from the rain. But the middle to lower part of the lake
is in good condition for winter fishing. Up the rivers and in the back of
creeks is where the cold and dirty water is. So when the lake opens up again.
The lower end is going to have the best fishing.
