Bass: picking up nicely!
The top water bite is starting to pick up. On cloudy days it may last
all thru the day...?? Best baits for top water action: Spooks, Sammys
and Spittin Immages... The bass are still deep around 30 to 45 foot
deep. During the day, the standard Jig does the best. Use a 3/4 oz PBJ
jig with a Cin Black/purple trailer from Yamamoto. before dark use a
8" larew Red/Gold or Red/Silver worm. Some recent action on Norman's
dd22 have done ok too!
Stripers: Boy are the stripers, hybrids
and whites tearing up the spoons! Binks spoons in the 1oz size are working
very well on Norfork. The colors that seem to produce the most are White,
Silver, or his new white with a light green back. We're catching everything
on the Bink spoons! The trollers are also doing very well! they're using
Storm and Berkley soft swim baits in the 3", 4" and 5"
sizes. Depts are ranging from 30 to 65 ft. Down by the damn has been
the best for larger stripers.
Walleyes: If you like walleyes, then you
better starting fishing for them! Using Binks spoons just like for stripers...also
dragging a night crawler on a crawler harness is working well. The trollers
are using Hot-n-Tots, Glass Shad Raps, and Reef Runners. The Walleyes
are in about 30 to 45 foot of water. Find the bait and you'll find the
Walleyes.
Crappie: Crappies have started to pick
up a little bit due to the recent cooler weather. However it is still
a little slow on them. 25ft on minnows has worked the best.
Bream: They're still eating worms and crickets
like crazy. 18 to 35 foot deep. just move around and once you catch
one you'll get more.
