Norfork Lake Arkansas Fishing Reports

10/13/06:

Report compiled by John Richeson, guide, Cranfield Junction 870 492 5141 Cranfield Junction Bait and Tackle

Bass: Really picking up nowthat the water has cooled off to the low 70's.

Top water action has been really good recently. Sammy's,Spooks, Spitting Immages etc are working well on Tuck's, Blacks and some smallies. Try the top water early in the am and late in the afternoon. The spinner bait bite has started also. So get prepared with a HAND MADE CUSTOM SPINNER BAIT by Shawn White a Cranfield Junction. He can make one that the bass here on Bull or Norfork can't refuse.!! No Joke! Call him at 870-492-5141 or 800-658-9066

Stripers: DOing good on stipers. They are hanging in the 50 foot range and Binks Spoons have worked the best...The trollers have been very productive using Berkley Pogy's and Storm Swim Baits...There has also been some decent top water action early in the am for stripers, hybrids and whites.

Walleyes: The walleyes have been good one day the poor the next. The spooners have used Binks spoons in the 30 to 45 foot range and the Trollers have been using Hot-N-Tots, Reef Runners and Tail Dancers! Don't forget about the Nite Crawlers. The walleyes have been eating the crawlers up when they are active!!

Crappies: Been doing good on Crappies now that the water has cooled off. Either use Minnows or Lake Norfork Crappie Jigs. Look for the Crappies in and around the brush piles in 15 to 40 foot deep!!

Trout: The white and norfork have been doing fairly well recently. with low water conditions use the 1/16 oz Zig Jig, or Blue Fox Spinner Baits. With some power generation, use a 1/8oz Zig Jig and move to 1/4oz Colorado Spoons, Rapala X-Raps, and Lucky Craft 78's or 100's. The fly fishermen have been doing well on scuds, sowbugs and woolybuggers.
