Missouri Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Pomme De Terre 01/28/06:
The jig bite continues to be strong
on Pomme; an Eakins jig
in black / blue flash or Texas craw matched with a zoom super chunk jr. or
Paca chunk will produce several bites in the deeper brush piles on the main
lake. On windy days a Smithwick Rouge or Lucky Craft Pointer will produce
a mixed bag of blacks, whites, crappie and even a musky or two when fished
on flat points and banks with isolated cover. Make multiple casts at isolated
pieces of cover on these banks, if you catch a fish on a piece of cover throw
back at it until you are satisfied there are no other fish holding on that
cover.
Crappie fishing is still good, brush
piles in 15’-25’ of water
are holding fish, live minnows, squirts and small grubs all produce fish.
