Missouri Lakes Fishing Report

Lake - Pomme De Terre 02/04/06:

Deeper brush piles have been good places to look for bass on calm days; throw a brown / chartreuse or Missouri craw Eakins jig with a green pumpkin Chomper jig trailer and fish from 5’ – 30’ deep spending as much time as possible in the cover. On windy days a stick bait will produce a mixed bag of fish on flat points and banks with mixed rock and gravel. Look for areas with isolated cover and make multiple casts with a Lucky Craft Pointer or Smithwick Rogue to each piece of cover. On sunny days a chrome or clown color has been effective while on cloudy days a Table Rock shad or Chartreuse shad has worked better.

Crappie fishing is still good, brush piles in 15’-25’ of water are holding fish, live minnows, squirts and small grubs all produce fish.
