Missouri Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Pomme De Terre 02/11/06:
Slow down, that’s the best advice on Pomme right now; a variety of baits and techniques are working right now if you slow down
and fish deliberately. Lucky Craft Pointers and Smithwick Rogues fished slowly
on deep mixed rock points and channel banks around pieces of isolated cover
will result in several bites if you allow the bait to pause between 10 – 30
seconds between jerks. On sunny days fish flashy colors like American Shad
or Clown and on cloudy days switch over to Chartreuse Shad or Tennessee Shad
and speed up your retrieve. Deep brush piles on points, channel swings and
around docks are holding fish as well, slowly work these brush piles with
an Eakins’ jig in Brown / Chartreuse flash with a green pumpkin Chomper
jig trailer and make multiple casts from different angles until you get bit.
Crappie fishing is good, live minnows, squirts and small grubs fished over
brush in 15’ – 25’ deep have all been effective.
