Missouri Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Pomme De Terre 03/11/06:
The stickbait bite is still holding
on in the dam area, pointers
and rogues in American shad, black / chrome and clown will produce on windy,
mixed rock banks near any piece of cover on the bank. Eakins jig and craw
combos fished on steeper banks and points on the main lake and in major creek
arms have produced fish near laydowns, brush piles and standing timber. With
all rain, the water in the backs of the major creeks is getting warm and
dirty and it won’t take long for shad and in turn fish to work their
way to these areas. When this happens; spinnerbaits, crankbaits and rattletraps
will all be important baits, fish them close to any wood cover you find.
Crappie fishing has been a little better; live bait is still king but small
tubes and 2” grubs will work if you are persistent.
