Missouri Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Table Rock 02/06/06:
Kimberling City Area: Not allot of changes over the past week,
the deep bite is still the most solid pattern in the mid lake area. Spoons,
drop shot finesse worms and single tail grubs continue to be the most reliable
baits. A few fish are also coming off of deep docks with an Eakins jig in
PB&J fished as deep as 40’ deep on the bottom or suspended in the
shade of a dock. Most of the jig fish are still coming on larger docks that
extend over deep water.
James River: Most of the fish being caught up the river are being caught
on a stick bait; rogues, lucky craft pointers and Rapala X-raps are all catching
fish in a variety of chrome, clown and table rock shad colors. Look for isolated
pieces of cover near deep water to hold the bulk of the fish; make cast perpendicular
to the bank and close to the cover to be successful.
White River: The fish up the Kings seem to be a little more active than in
other areas of the lake. A rogue or pointer will work around isolated wood
cover, on windy days switch to a wiggle wart and fish mixed rock banks 6’ – 10’ deep
and on calm day several fish have been caught on a brown / chartreuse Eakins
jig with a green pumpkin Eakins craw trailer fished on main lake and creek
arm channel swing banks.
Dam Area: The deep bite continues to produce in the dam area, bluff ends,
saddles and the ends of long points have all been productive locations. Find
the bait fish and you will find the bass, look for bait that is suspended
off of the bottom to find the most active fish and fish these areas with
spoons, drop shot and needle worms, single tail grubs and tail spinners.
In addition the long Creek area has had a good stick bait bite come on over
the past week, much like the rest of the lake look for isolated trees on
mixed rock banks near deep water to be the most effective areas.
