Truman Lake Fishing
Reports
Truman Lake: 03/16/06:
We are catching crappie in the creeks
along the creek channels. The best approach
is to fish the mouths of the creeks and work your way in.Keep your boat
in 15 ft of water or more and the fish will vary in depts.I fished Saturday,
the weather was nice and some of the crappie were only 2 to 3ft deep in
water 15 ft or more.the color we used was blk/char and we caught 2 good
limits in a very short time.We fished all the creeks around Bucksaw and
every creek held fish. The water is in great shape and is leading up to
a early spawn.
Catfish are being caught on rod and reel, trotline, and jug lines using cut
bait. Most are being caught on the flats leading into the creeks.Fish in water
10 ft deep and fish down 5 to 6ft.All fish we are seeing are bluecats and
channels with some good ones in the bunch. Its worth your trip down.
Bass are scattered what fish are being caught are on jerkbaits in the lower
lake. The best approach is to point hop looking for bluff ends.Fish the damn
area.
If you are looking for a great time come down put out a trotline and then
go crappie fishing it doesn't get any better than that.
We will be opening the marina and restaurant on march
24th come and have
lunch or supper with us.The lodge,RV park and cabins are open now if you
need a place to stay.
Keep in mind the spawn should start early with the weather we are having
so plan ahead.
