Missouri Lakes Fishing Report

Lake - Table Rock 03/24/09:

March 24, 2009

Lake Level:  915.51
Water Temps:  48-52  River Arms:  49-55

Dam, Kimberling City, Baxter, & Campbell Point Areas
Smallmouths and Kentucky's are starting to move up on main lake and secondary flat gravel points.  If cloudy and windy, try wigglewarts in crawdad patterns and stickbaits in chartreuse/shad, Table Rock shad, & Norman flake colors.

If the bite is slow try 3/16 or 1/4 oz.  4" or 5
single tail grubs in salt & pepper, or smoke, fishing them 8'-20' deep. Carolina rigged French fries and split shot rigs starting to work in 10'-20' on twin tailed Chomper grubs or 3/8 - 1/2 0z. football jigs.

Still many fish being caught on jerkbaits on main lake and secondary points with submerged timbers close to creek channels & channel swings.

Long Creek, Kings River, & James River

Water in the upper ends of the rivers are warming up to 55-60 in the afternoons.  Many different lures are working.  Wigglewarts, Bandits 200's, 6 or 7A Bombers, etc, are working. If water has a lot of stain or color to it throw a bait with chartreuse in it.

Spinnerbaits and chatterbaits working as well as jigs.  You just have to weed through small fish in some of the areas to get quality bites.  If the weather stays nice we should have fish on weeds in the next 10-14 days.
